foodie's winter cure


Brie w/ mushroom quiche and
 butternut squash ginger soup
Hello everyone, how are ya?
Apparently, I have been sick.
I am not sure if it's a cold or just exhaustion, but I have lost my voice completely for the first time in these past few years. I know when it comes to health-management, I am normally high-maintainance, so I guess I overrated my ability and overworked. Hah.
Prevention is much easier than curing after you get sick.
I knew, I knew.
But here I am, trying to fully recover. I have been staying quiet except for feeding myself properly.
Here are just what I have been eating.

  

  • fresh ground ginger (kill germs and keep your body warm)
  • scallion (same as above)
  • Miso-based pork soup, brwin rice,
    honey-caramelized sweet yam, spinach with bonito flalkes
  • lemon (vitamin C)
  • honey 
  • green tea (vitamin C, also tannin helps relieving chest congestion from mucus)
  • lotus root (tannin helps relieving the chest congestion)
But sleep is the best medicine for now. 
Lot of things to think and sort out. And get done.
I can only deal with them with healthy body and clear mind. so Good night. And keeping my fingers crossed so tonight's snow won't do as bad as the last one did..


何年かぶりに声が出ないという失態に。
かなり気をつけて健康管理してる普段なので、つい過信したら、途端にこれだもの。
風邪か、ただ乾燥かは知らないけど、とにかく、胸が苦しい。
直すよりも、予防の方がずっと簡単でかつ大事なのに!知ってたのに!ぐう〜。
まあでもこうなったらしかたないので、ここ数日はじっとしてます。
ご飯だけはしっかりと作りつつ。
そんで何を食べてるかと言うと
  • 生姜(殺菌、体温をあげる)
  • ネギ(上に同じ)
  • レモン(ビタミンC)
  • 蜂蜜(のどに)
  • 緑茶(ビタミンC、タンニンが咳をきる)
  • 蓮根 (タンニン、上に同じ)
など。でも一番はやはり休息ですね。
今、なんだかいっぺんに色んなことが始まる前で、がつっと考えて、じゃんじゃか動き始めないといけないんだけど。
あるいは、ちょっと焦らないと逃してしまうかも知れないような、早い流れに飛び込む前なのかも。
でも飛び込む前に、もう一度整えて健やかな体と冴えた頭(私にしては、ってレベルだけど)を取り戻さねば。
